Who is Verena?

Since my student days, I’ve been dreaming of running my own creative business.

After studying PR, I worked in the demanding corporate world for a couple of years until I was presented with an opportunity to join my dad’s wholesale business. This career move gave me the freedom and time to invest in my dream and dishy designs was born in November 2012.

You will find me selling dishy designs at various markets in and around Cape Town, the Kirstenbosch Market being one of them.

I love meeting customers from all over the world, each one from a different walk of life with weird and wonderful tales to tell. I love making people laugh with a quirky design or when someone runs up to a specific product saying ‘I MUST have this’ or ‘This would be perfect for so and so’. Making these connections is hands down my favourite part of this journey.

On a more personal note, I live in Cape Town with my fiancé Patrick and fur-kids, Diesel and Leila. If I’m not working, I’m spending quality time with my other half or family, drinking coffee with a girlfriend, travelling, reading, dancing to the latest beats, or enjoying a home cooked meal.
